Ministry Care
Ridgely is a place where those in ministry can receive ministry.
At Ridgely, we understand the unique demands of ministry life and the importance of taking time to recharge and reconnect.
Whether you’re seeking
solitude to reflect, intentional time with your spouse, or a collaborative space for your team to
grow and bond,
Ridgely is here for you.

"I am exhausted all the time."
[What is most challenging?] “Self-care. [I’m] too busy and not enough time for prayer
and solitude.”
“Some of my greatest challenges
include loneliness.
There is a lack of clergy support and
connection in my area, despite my
trying to form connections.”
- Hartford Institute for Religion Research
Clergy & Ministers

Finding a place to step away from the weight of titles and
expectations, even for brief periods, can be challenging.
But it's a vital component to pastoral self care. In fact,
stress is by far the #1 reason many consider quitting.

A 2023 study of Clergy conducted by the Hartford Institute
for Religion Research shows that 53% have seriously
considered leaving pastoral ministry at least once since 2020, and
close to half (44%) of religious leaders have seriously
considered leaving their current congregation at least once.

Having served in church leadership, we understand. At Ridgely,
we offer a sanctuary where you can simply be yourself—a haven to reflect or process difficult times, surrounded by God's creation,
and meditate on who God has called you to be.

Whether you're seeking a peaceful sabbatical or a moment of respite,
we understand the stresses that accompany a life in ministry.
Our retreat space is designed to restore your spirit and provide the quietude needed to reconnect with your purpose.
Worship & Praise Teams
We're musicians—we get it. It’s easy to let the Worship or Team
aspects fade amid the busyness of rehearsals and performances.
At Ridgely, we provide the perfect setting to minimize everyday distractions, offering your team space to reconnect—
with each other and with God.

Ridgely is more than just a retreat center—it is a
sanctuary where your Worship Team can come together
to grow, recharge, and create.

Whether you're seeking intentional times for
team building, meaningful moments of bonding,
focused rehearsals in a peaceful setting, or all three,
Ridgely is the place to make it happen.
Our tranquil gardens and welcoming accommodations
serve as the perfect backdrop for both
inspiration and relaxation.
This is a place where melodies and harmonies blend
seamlessly with moments of fellowship and prayer, creating
an experience that will invigorate your ministry.

"If we're honest, we recognize that many of our church systems have begun to overemphasize the perfection of craft
over the development
of spirituality.
All too often, we fail to prioritize
the most important element
of meeting together: gathering
to grow spiritually."
- Jeff Deyo, Leaders.Church

“We find it difficult to establish times for our marital relationship without
having interruptions related to the
needs of our congregation.”
"I often resent the demands of
ministry on our family.”
“There are not enough relationships
in our lives where we feel we
can be ourselves.”
- Lifeway Research
Ministry Couples

Serving the church is a calling filled with meaning, but also
with unique pressures and unspoken burdens, especially
on spouses and families.

A 2017 Lifeway Research study found that 33% of ministry
spouses feel caught in a tug of war between the church and
family, with nearly half of spouses believing their family is expected
to be secondary to the church.

These pressures are further underscored by the reality that 86% of
ministry spouses agree their congregation expects their marriage
to be a role model. Such a high—and often unrealistic—expectation
can add invisible weight to every interaction, amplifying the sense
that perfection is demanded in both public and private life.

Whether strolling hand-in-hand through our peaceful gardens,
enjoying a shared meal, or simply sitting side by side in the stillness, couples at Ridgely find permission to be present—
to one another and to themselves.

Ridgely welcomes those in ministry to experience rest not
as a luxury, but as a vital part of a healthy,
flourishing relationship. Even a brief stay can breathe
new life into weary hearts, offering couples the space
to listen, to laugh again, and to remember why they
began their journey together.
