Welcome to Ridgely - our home, we're delighted to share it with you! To keep it enjoyable for you and our other guests, we have a few rules that must be followed:

First - BE KIND AND COURTEOUS. Life's too short.

Our Covid Policy - We are fully vaccinated and would love if all of our guests are as well, but we do not mandate that a person be vaccinated to stay with us. Guests who are immunocompromised are encouraged to wear masks in the indoor common areas of the house.

Reservations - Rooms can be booked for one-night stays Sunday - Thursday. Reservations for Friday or Saturday require a minimum 2-night stay.

Payment - We accept most major credit cards, checks, and also take payment via Venmo or Zelle. If you would prefer to make a reservation paying with either Venmo or Zelle, please make a note of that during your booking.

CancelationsThese are the general cancelation policies for Ridgely regarding room reservations. All other cancelation policies about group events or weddings will be handled apart from what is stated below:

 - If canceled up to 72 hours before arrival, a full refund will be issued of your deposit.

 - If canceled less than 72 hours before arrival, your deposit will be forfeited.

 - If you are a no-show, 100% of the first night will be charged.

Check-in/Check-out - Guests may check-in after 3 pm. If you need an earlier check-in time, please arrange this before your arrival.  We are happy for you to drop off luggage ahead of your check-in and we will store it for you. Check-out is at 11 am. If you need a later checkout or need us to hold your luggage, we would be happy to discuss.

Getting Here - We are located at the corner of First St and Bath St. You will park alongside the backside of the house on Bath, then you will go down the stone steps next to the Ridgely sign and onto the front porch. From there, you'll come around to the front door. If the door is open, no need to ring the bell...just come on in. We'll help you get settled.

Parking - We have street parking along the backside of the house on Bath Street. Feel free to park on either side of the street. For guests staying in the Cottage, there is a parking area near there that can accommodate one vehicle. This is a safe area and we have never had any issues, but please know that we are not responsible for damage to vehicles or loss of articles from vehicles in the parking areas. If you have items on racks (bikes, kayaks, etc), we are happy to store those in our garage if you don't want to leave them mounted to your vehicle during your stay.

Breakfast - We prepare breakfast each morning for our guests, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and special needs. If you have a food allergy or other dietary accommodation of which we should be aware, please let us know at least 24 hours before your arrival so that we can make sure we have the proper items on hand.

Age restrictions - While we love for families to travel together, Ridgely is not properly set up to host children under the age of 10. This is an older home with 2 large staircases inside, and many stone steps and rock walls outside that present falling hazards for young children. In addition, outlets and cabinets have not been child-proofed.

Video Surveillance - This is a big property to keep an eye on. We have several video cameras situated on the exterior of the house, the cottage, the garages, and around the gardens.

Cleanliness - We keep a clean house (despite our pups). And we are happy to clean up after our guests but don't make extra work for us. Please put all trash in the provided wastebaskets. If you have something larger that needs to be thrown out, let us know and we'll take care of it for you. Don't leave it lurking in the corner of your room or under the bed.

If something is missing or broken, please let us know, and we'll get it fixed or replaced right away. The next guest shouldn't be given a surprise.

Kitchen Use - The kitchen is for our use only. We are very happy to provide breakfast each day of your stay, as well as some goodies later in the day, and there is a coffee/tea/water station available 24 hours. (hint: drinking coffee at 3 a.m. is not very conducive to sleep)

If you are a large group that is looking to have additional meals provided, we would be happy to discuss menus and the additional costs.

No illegal drug or substance use is permitted. We will contact the authorities.

Traveling with Pets - We love our pets and we know you love yours. But let's admit it - not every pet travels well. For this reason, we only allow well-behaved (read: chill), house-broken, and vaccinated dogs to stay with their family in the Garden Cottage only.

 - Staying in the main house is not permitted as some guests have pet allergies. (Plus, our dogs give us the stink eye when we let another pet enter their realm)

 - As a matter of courtesy to us, other guests, and our neighbors, you must pick up any droppings in the garden and surrounding neighborhood and dispose of them in the trash can.

 - Your dog must be on a leash anytime they are outside of the cottage and on the property.

 - If you leave your dog alone in the cottage, it must be secured in a pet crate.

 - Pets are not permitted on furniture.

 - You cannot lock your dog in your car while away.

 - You are financially responsible for any damage your pet does to our furniture, fixtures, or property.

Tobacco use or vaping is not allowed anywhere on the property.

Visitors - Guests of Ridgely are the only ones permitted use of the house, bedrooms, cottage, and gardens. No visitors are allowed in bedrooms at any time.

Music - We love music and have a nice stereo that you are welcome to use, but please be courteous to other guests and keep the volume low.

Use of Piano - Did we say we love music? So much so that we have 2 pianos. If you're a pianist and want to play, please let us know. We want to be respectful of other guests who might want some quiet time.

Quiet HoursAnd speaking of quiet time, quiet hours are between 10 p.m.-8 a.m. Please keep talking, music, or tv volume low during this time. If you are coming back into the house after 10 p.m., please be mindful of how much noise you may be making.

Parties - We like parties as much as anyone but sorry, they're not permitted. It's not fair to us or the other guests who use the same common areas. If you wish to hold a gathering as part of a stay where you have booked the entire house and cottage, arrangements must be made at the time of booking.

Wifi Use - Wifi is provided for the benefit of our guests and network passwords should not be shared. Large file downloads are not permitted. And the use of our internet to view or share pornographic material or other material we deem inappropriate or unlawful is forbidden and can result in the suspension of wifi use.
